The Washerwoman Trail

An exciting historical walk combined with a touch of adventure on the oldest route below the slopes of Table Mountain.

Follow the footsteps and stories of the slave washerwoman, the Drosters' hideouts, the quarrymen and the spice millers.

Discover the haunted ruins; a spot where the Magic Ring was lost, the waterfall and springs that once supplied the city with drinking water and the magical views of Table Bay from Platteklip.

Choose from an one way circular route departing at Deer Park Cafe or Carluccis at Homestead Park, the oldest farm.

The tour distance and duration is about 3km and 2 1/2 hours. It is suitable for most adventurers, but there are a few slippery and steep places. Closed footgear is recommended.

Bring:
A light jacket for a sudden change in weather, a camera for the scenic surroundings and a sense of adventure for an awesome time.

This tour is for group bookings only. The cost depends on the group size.
